Associate Financial Planner

Suhaimi is the CEO/Principal Consultant of SSA Consulting Group TM. He is the founder member of the Institute of Management Consultants (Singapore) and a practising member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. Suhaimi currently serves the Institute of Management Consultants (Singapore) as its Immediate Past President. He is also serving the following public and community organisations:

  • Charity Council
  • Ngee Ann Polytechnic Council and is Chairman of its Staff Disciplinary Committee
  • Malay Heritage Foundation
  • Kembangan Court MCST

Suhaimi has more than 30 years of post-graduate experience in management covering human resource development, organisational development, productivity management, audit, finance and strategic planning in a broad range of industries .

Suhaimi travels extensively within the ASEAN region especially Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Brunei, where he has facilitated in-company training and consulting assignments for major private and public sector organisations, and industry associations, including the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore, Institute of Management Consultants (Singapore), Singapore Business Federation, National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre and Social Service Training Institute.

Suhaimi was awarded a Fellowship to attend a Management Consultancy programme in Japan in 1986. He is currently an Asian Productivity Organisation (APO)’s expert on Productivity Measurement & Diagnosis and was assigned to handle projects for the Indonesian and Philippines governments. He was awarded the SME Partner Award by the Singapore Productivity & Standards Board in March 2001 for his “outstanding contributions in the development of the small and medium enterprises” in Singapore. He was one of the three recipients for the award.

He has served many public and civic institutions in various capacities in the past. They include:
  • Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SMCCI) (as its Hon Treasurer, Deputy President and Chairman of its Training & Development Committee),
  • Singapore Public Transport Council,
  • Singapore Courtesy Council,
  • Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, Programme Advisory Committee
  • Temasek Polytechnic (Board of Governors),
  • Singapore Institute of Management (Board of Governors),
  • Anderson Junior College (Advisory Committee),
  • Yayasan Mendaki (Hon Treasurer),
  • Prophet Muhammad Birthday Memorial Scholarship Fund Board (as its Hon Treasurer and Vice-President),
  • Association of Muslim Professionals.

Besides these appointments, he has also been called upon to act as resource persons in various discussions on business and socio-economic matters. He has appeared numerous times in live TV and radio forum/interviews on worker training, economy and business. He was also featured in a special programme on Malay entrepreneurs, Usahawan, as well as on RTM 1 TV programme, Salam Nusantara. He also contributes regular articles on business and management to the local Malay daily, Berita Harian/Berita Minggu.

Suhaimi has also published several books on investment and management. One of his books Menceburi Bidang Pelaburan (a book on investment basics) received the High Commendation Award (Non-Fiction) from the National Book Development Council of Singapore in 1996.

Suhaimi has also been invited to speak at major conferences in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, including the Singapore Muslim Economic Congress (1986), the Asia-Pacific Financial Controllers Conference (1996), Nusantara Management Programme (1997), the World Islamic Business Leaders’ Summit (1997) and Human Resource Management Conference (2002).
